Is BrightLeaf a religious organization? Do I have to be religious or attend a faith organization in order to benefit from the services provided by BrightLeaf ?
No. Staff and clients include people from a wide variety of perspectives and viewpoints. Some clients are very active in their faith traditions, some practice a personal spirituality apart from membership in a religious organization, and others have little or no explicit interest in faith concerns. While staff therapists are trained to explore issues of ultimate meaning and value in a person’s life, they come from many different faith backgrounds and do not impose a particular religious viewpoint, practice, or belief system onto a client.
What is spiritually-integrative counseling?
BrightLeaf clinicians believe that the most effective clinical treatment is a holistic one that focuses on mind, body, and spirit. Spiritually-integrative counseling means that a therapist will attend to an individual’s thoughts, feelings, physical health, and spirituality. When appropriate, the counselor will explore a client’s beliefs about meaning and values, being mindful not to impose her or his spiritual beliefs or practices onto the client.
Who are the staff members at BrightLeaf ?
The agency’s clinical staff consists of the following licensed mental health practitioners:
• Pastoral Psychotherapists
• Psychologists
• Social Workers
• Mental Health Counselors
• Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors
In addition, BrightLeaf staff include Clinical Intern and Resident Therapists who see clients at an affordable self-pay fee.
How do I get a referral to BrightLeaf ?
Many insurances do not require a referral for counseling services, but it is a good idea to call your insurance company to double-check. If a referral is needed, primary care physicians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, therapists, hospitals, medical facilities and insurance companies make referrals to BrightLeaf.
Is BrightLeaf covered by my insurance?
We accept most insurance carriers including Medicare, Medicaid, Tri-Care, Anthem, Cigna, Harvard Pilgrim/United Healthcare, Tufts, and Aetna.
How do I find the therapist that is right for me?
After gathering information about an individual’s presenting concerns, treatment goals, availability, and health insurance, the Director of Clinical Services will make a determination about which BrightLeaf clinician would be the best match for that client.
How do I make an appointment?
Once it has been determined which therapist is an appropriate fit for you, that therapist will contact you to set up your appointment. In-person and virtual appointments are available.
How much does counseling cost and how do I pay for it?
We have a standard fee of $180 for an initial visit, $175 per clinical hour for individual therapy, and $150 per clinical hour for couples and family counseling. Most insurances cover part or all of the fees for services, but it may be helpful to check with your insurance provider to double check your deductible or co-payment expectations on your plan. We do offer some affordable self-pay options for clients who do not have insurance coverage or for whom have large deductibles or co-payments.
